Caxton FX card

We have always taken cash to the US but I am thinking of getting a prepaid travel card (load around £500 onto it) has anyone had any issues with them or is there anything I need to be aware off.

I have used Fair FX pre paid card for many years before Covid. I have never had any issues with it. I have used it in shops, restaurants and even at gas stations.

I have got a new card for my trip to California at the end of January as my old card was out of date. The new currency card is still on the Mastercard system but there is now an App which is so much easier , as I can see the balance and transactions. I am topping up week by week.

The only difference I have found is that my old Fair FX card could be added to my Disney account for use with mobile ordering. The Disney system wont accept my new card, but I still plan to use it in Disneyland just like a normal card.

I have a Caxton card and really like it. I have the app on my phone and can transfer money as and when I like, minimum of £50 each load. We used to take cash, but since having the Caxton card, I now prefer it and it’s so much safer than cash.
