Staying at port canaveral VS Disney

Hey everyone

Has anyone stayed near port canaveral or cocoa beach? Are there any nice hotel recommendations or things to do around the area? We are currently trying to decided whether to stay near the port for our cruise or stay a night at Disney and I need your help or if anyone has any better suggestions.

We’ve never stayed at Port Canaveral but have cruised from there several times. We always stay on Idrive the night before (sometimes we do a week in Florida then the cruise but other times five nights in Vegas then a night or two florida then the cruise).

We always use Rosen inn @ Pointe and pay approx £50 per night for us both then take a Lyft from Idrive to the port in the morning (think it was less than $50 in 2019).

Are you flying in and cruising the following day? If so I would be inclined to head straight to Port Canaveral, because you’re ‘on the way’ whereas if you go to Disney (for just one night) you have to backtrack in the morning.

If you think you’d squeeze in a night out in the parks at WDW on arrival night then it might be worth it, (depending on what time your flight is due to get in)?

If you’ve got a few nights before cruising I’d be inclined to spend those in Orlando / WDW.

the hilton is great but not cheap about £200 a night but worth it, i would look at the international palms £120, seems to get bad comments but never had an issue regards clean rooms and helpfull staff and stayed several times without issue average accommodation in the rooms but more than adequate on the beach with decent pool on the bach and 10 mins in a taxi to the port. some nice eateries nearby, and i hop, dennys etc across the road. if ou hve a car Brevard zoo worth a visit as is the policse hall of fame mseum. The beach and sea are nice and peacefull.
