Mobile Travel to Spain after 1st Dec

Have just read that from 1st Dec anyone over the age of 12 will have to be double vaccinated to enter spain from the UK. We are due to travel in Feb and our 12 year old son has had x 1 vaccine as per recommendations but isn't eligible for a 2nd vaccine. Am presuming we won't be able to travel?

We are booked for 17th Dec with 14yr DD, doesn’t look like we will be going….. not sure where else we could switch it to for a bit of winter sun and tbh, not sure I would risk long haul not going red in the meantime/whilst out there…..

Another cancelled holiday…..

I can't understand why 12-15 year olds are included as they can't get 2 vaccines in the UK unless other reasons? Hoping it changes 🤞

What a joke. Looks like a lot for families won’t be travelling for some time now.

Really? So difficult to keep up, we’re (hopefully) going to a wedding in the south of France in August, thought since we have some time we might take the train over to Spain, but maybe not. Both kids learning Spanish at school and I’d love to take them to actual Spain. This pandemic really is doing a cracking job at sucking joy out of life on a regular basis. As soon as you see a light and plan some fun boom 💥. Jobs, parents, now travel.

It has nothing to do with UK vaccine programs. This is a decision made by the Spanish Government, and if they require children over 12 to be vaccinated then its up to them.

We are losing our Christmas holiday for this, I don’t think it a joke. Losing a holiday bares in to insignificance compared to health and systems put in place to help protect health.

We all knew there were risks when we booked.

For those not travelling until next year I thought I heard in the government briefing that they are looking at giving 12-15 year olds who have had 1st vaccine a 2nd one as part of 5he enhanced booster scheme which would mean they would fully vaccinated

Spanish economy will be decimated anyway, this will only add to their problems if they keep this up. People start booking summer holidays in the New Year, they will start looking elsewhere (if the government haven’t totally collapsed the travel industry already).
