Cancelled our trip last night, me and DH were due to run the Valencia Marathon next Sunday and we were taking our teenagers with us.

Europe have double jabbed their over-12s so they won't make exceptions for the UK being behind with our teenagers.

My eldest is 17 and was double jabbed last Thursday but can't go to Spain until 14 days after his 2nd jab.

My twins have jab 2 booked in December so we might be able to have a little February half term or Easter break instead - as long as PCR testing on day 2 goes - so expensive!

I would think that UK 12+ kids will be offered jab 2 early next year?

So there goes our alternative New Years hol idea if USA not happening…
Longer term I’m still hoping that teens will get their second vaccine sometime but anyone know if there is any requirement about interval between jabs in current Spanish rules?

They need to provide evidence of this though, giving the vaccine is only half the issue proving it is the other.

The Spanish are not even using common sense. Well over 80% of our kids in this age bracket have had Covid. Unlike any other country in the world to my knowledge we have certain figures on this. Spanish seem to be ignoring this. Fair enough, will take my business elsewhere.

I would wait as most destinations are expected to announce their new restrictions early this week.

I think the issue is TUI states only 48hrs to make a change from announcement or have I read that wrong, will happily wait but not if I am to lose all the £S though, would rather move it to Easter / summer

I have read that the Spanish info from yesterday doesn't differentiate between under/over 12s it just references that minors (under 18 ) are exempt if travelling with fully vaccinated adults, it has been interpreted incorrectly by the UK government. How true this is I don't know so am waiting with baited breath for clarification tomorrow.

Even if my 13 year old was double vaccinated you can't get a vaccine passport for under 16s? So how could we prove it.

I have everything crossed as I have flights booked with Ryanair and face losing over £600 as my travel insurance doesn't pay out in these circumstances either

I would expect other countries to follow Spain to be honest, especially in Europe. Malta has had the same requirement for a long time.
