B.A. economy v premium.

As the title suggests, I'm looking for peoples opinions of BA eco v premium.
Is there so much difference to justify a £1,500 cost to upgrade?
My wife and her friend are flying to Boston and returning from Canada next year and have been quoted 1.5k to upgrade to premium, can the service and comfort justify the price?
Thanks.

For me, PE is worth £100 per leg over economy. So I would pay a £200 fee for the upgrade.

For me it's worth a little more than £100 - probably £200. You are paying for the extra room and on a transatlantic flight it is worth it in my opinion

Your £100 wouldn't even cover the increase in Air Passenger Duty, its an additional £98 at the moment and increases to £101 from 1st April next year.

That £100 only applies to the outbound leg, I'vejust looked at some random dates in February a BA Lon-JFK in economy with a checked bag is £474 return and PE with 2 checked bags is £672 so roughly £100 each way more.

It's nice but not a significant upgrade. As above, I'd pay maybe £200 more for it. I'd want CW for £1500 more.

I last flew premium from Tampa to LGW. There were 4 of us and every seat was broken in some way. The flight was full and my husband couldn’t recline because of the seat, mine had a broken footrest which was under my feet and my DD and her BF were unable to use the entertainment system and I paid £150 for each seat. I tried to get my £600 back because we would have moved to economy but the flight was full. BA did give each of us 15,000 air miles and that was that. When we get the opportunity to price up premium vs. economy we always wonder if this will happen again and usually we opt for economy.

Just flown back from Tampa Premium Economy … some of the little touches pre Covid are not there … the warm bread rolls before dinner … gone.
More legroom in a smaller cabin … board and disembark before economy …. Extra baggage (2 cases as opposed to 1) … I would pay £150 - max £200 per person per leg …

I'm flying PE for the first time in Feb, last time I flew transatlantic, was from LAX in economy , as I'm 6'5" it was a touch uncomfortable especially as You are on a 10 hr flight.
I can't wait to experience the extra room.

The fizzy wine on boarding the plane. They came up with some rubbish about not being allowed. It's advertised on their website and we had it sept 2019!
