Not sure how to upload images, but start a cut 1/3rd of way down, cut right 6, then down 1, then right 6 again, making 2 pieces that can be slotted together.

Agree with Trackstars shape but the measurements are 'Starting one foot down on the left, cut right for 3 feet, then down 1 foot then cut right for a further 3 feet'.
