Magical express, followed by car hire

Hi all
We have never used the magical express but looking at using it next year for staying 5 nights at Disney Beach Club. We would not need a car while at Disney but afterwards we want to move onto off-site property for a week, so will need a car for that period and getting back to the airport. What is the best way to do this please? Would we have to go back to Orlando airport to hire a car?
Any tips most appreciated. Thanks

There is car hire places close to Disney resorts so you would just book to collect from there.

I am doing a split stay in September and doing just that. I have hired car from the last day before checkout, picking the car up from Alamo at the Disney Car Care Centre which is adjacent to the entrance of Magic Kingdom. There is no problem getting there as you can arrange for free transport to pick you up from the Resort or even one of the parks. I have booked a pick up for 5pm, and Alamo will send a minibus for me at a time I book on the day or late the previous day. You can also pick up cars from the Dolphin or Swan, but have found the DCCC has a better choice usually when I have done it before

We always hire at the airport but dozens of Dibbers catch the DME from MCO to their resort then collect a car from The Disney Car Care Centre.

Apparently you simply call them and they will collect you from resort. Then return the car to MCO on your way home.

This sounds perfect. Dolphin or Swan may be a good choice if staying at BC. Thank you

Mick
That’s exactly what we would need to do

I am at Beach Club too, but prefer what's on offer at DCCC but it's down to whatever is best for you

Never ever book via Disney! Like all their products the prices are nuts.

All the companies are onsite such as Avis, Alamo/National and Hertz. Alamo has 4 locations with the biggest being the car care centre.

Have a look at the 3rd party suppliers and enter Orlando as your pick up. It will give you options to pick where you want to collect. Failing that put Disney or Walt Disney or Lake Buena Vista etc.

Book with whatever car hire company or 3rd party you find gives you the best price. You presumably are taking it back to MCO when you have finished with it. This is what I am doing. Oh it has to be Alamo or National (which actually is the same company as Alamo). Mine was booked with Andy at DFCH (Discount Florida Car Hire) advertises on the Dibb and a lot of Dibbers hire through him. You don't have to pay up front, though you can pay a deposit if you wish as long as its paid by 8 weeks before, you can even pay a bit at a time. You can use other companies too, but the hire needs to be with Alamo/National I think
