Early or late dining?
Just trying to canvas peoples opinions.
We did early dining on the Queen Victoria and found we were rushing about for a 6 o’clock meal and missing sail aways. Also it limited pool time after returning to the ship on a shore day. Next year we have opted for the later sitting at 8.30pm to see what that’s like. Just wondering what everyone’s preference was? |

Out of the two I’d prefer late, however our first preference is the flexible dining. However, we haven’t cruise Disney (we mainly go Royal Caribbean, occasionally P&O) so I don’t know what Disney’s offering is in that respect.

We always go late for the very reasons you said. We find it so rushed if you have been out for the day .to come back and get ready for dinner .we like to go in the pool or have a nap .maybe catch a quiz .have a sail away drink .then get ready for dinner. Take in the early show. It's much better for us.

I voted late too. When the children were younger I think early is better, but as they got older later was better. Like TinkerBabe I prefer flexible dining the most but Disney don't do that!

We always choose late on any cruise, as we're never ready to eat early. Also on DCL there are far more children at the early dinner.

personally we always eat later as that's what suits us. We have only ever been RCL, and most recent cruises have been my time dining.

We go for early on DCL, DD likes to get to the kids clubs after dinner so it works for us plus we usually do the short cruises out of PC so we don't get off in Nassau and normally back on mid afternoon from CC.

we've always done late though we now do freedom, where we can chose what time we eat.
on early dining you miss relaxing etc after a day ashore, you have to start getting ready for dinner as soon as you get back to the ship

We had flexible dining last week but found if we didn’t go early there was a long wait to be seated.

Using cruise planner We book our show times to ensure we can go to all of them, then we book a dinner time which fits in with the shows. This is on Royal Caribbean with flexible dinning.
Think we have only 1 early dinner for this year the rest are at 8pm or a wee bit later. Edited at 10:55 PM. |
