Hi
Looking for thoughts on how much a family of 3 would need for food and snacks if staying in a villa for 2 weeks and shopping at Walmart?
Thanks in advance

Hiya we were 2 adults 2 kids staying in a villa for 3 weeks recently. We took just under 3k in dollars. That did us for everything parking/food/Walmart/fuel and a bit of clothes shopping. X

We aim for at least $200 per day to cover food, parking souvenirs and petrol for the car. Food is a mix of Disney, off-site restaurants and the occasional takeaway at the villa.

Went earlier this year with about $4000. Even buying a mountain of clothing and souvenirs we still only managed to spend just over $3000.

That was with a mix of eating out at the parks and various restaurants. Usually has one meal out a day.

On the odd occasion we have had a kitchen other than fruit and cereal we don’t make our own meals,in Florida groceries seem more expensive than eating out.

We are here now and food isn’t cheap. Bread is around $3 a loaf, a 4 pint carton of milk is $2.50 and butter is $3 for a packet. Cereal is very expensive as is some fresh fruit, strawberries are $3 on offer for a punnet that’s around £2 at home. Although they have ready cooked chicken for $5 and huge warm up pizzas for $7, so you can make a few cheap meals.
I brought cereal bars, cereal, coffee, teabags and biscuits from home which has helped and dollar tree is useful for things like cling film etc

Eating out is varied in terms of cost. We love sweet tomatoes which costs $30 for 2 adults and 1 child at lunchtime. All you can eat salad, soup, pizzas and jacket potatoes so it’s healthy too. We ate at TGI on our first night, a huge portion of wings, 2 steaks with chips and 3 soft drinks which cost $80 with tip. Not cheap but the food was good, service excellent and there was more than enough food in an adult portion to share between ds8 and I. The Olive Garden meal we had last night was $65 for a kids pasta, salmon and mash, and a lovely shrimp pasta dish. Salad and soup was included and we had soft drinks.

Before you come try to sign up for some discount coupons and read a few of the budget food trip reports.

We are a family of 7 and normally take £2500. The dollar rate is pants now though so taking £3500 this trip. With clothes and bag shopping, eating out and villa food etc we've always had left over for the kids to splash out on extra toys etc on the last day. I split it into days and whatever isn't spent rolls over to the next day etc x
