family of 5, WWYD?
I seem to have a way of getting what I want but not always knowing what I want (every womans dream I'm sure!). Our plan was to return for a BIG 3 week Orlando holiday August 2021 but I had anxiety issues about the 50th Disney Anniversary not starting until October 2021 and no ideas for 2020 so found cheap flights for April 2020 to Orlando and sold splitting our BIG Orlando holiday to 'the money maker'. Having bagged £315 each flights & £300 hire car I have planned 3 nights/2 days KSC, 9 days/8 nights Universal and final night staying in a DVC resort hopping and DVC tour for our final day (our flight is 8pm). Our 2021 stay will be 14/15 days Disney so Universal & KSC tickets and 6/7 nights accommodation come out of that budget .
Part of me would love to buy into DVC even if it's just 50pts but the exchange rate is not looking good . In an ideal situation we could use 20pts on a studio for 2020 then bank 30 and borrow for 2021 totaling 130 points for 2021 allowing 150pts every 3 years (so split stays as only allows 5 days in a 1 bed). Alternatively we could just rent points for the one night and think sensibly about it after a tour, but I still don't know where we should stay lol. For a stay of more than 2 nights we would like a minimum of 1 bedroom but for just a final night stay a studio will suffice. I'm drawn to beach club for the pool but open to suggestions for this too. A factor to consider is we have 3 girls that will be 11, 13 & 15 when we travel in 2020, the 13 & 15 year old are at about the same maturity (20 months apart) so expect they will both stop coming to Disney around the same time. Congratulations if you've read and understood my friday night ramblings, any thoughts on our situation are gladly received and considered.

Honestly as much as I like my DVC. I wouldn’t buy in now with the high cost of points and annual dues and the exchange rate.
Work out your annual dues * 3 and compare it to renting points for the stays you want to have or booking a room with free dining. |
