April or August?
We're looking to book Eastern Caribbean cruise on DCL and have the option of going in April 2018 or end of August 2018. April sailing has the Star Wars at Sea Day which DH would love, but as we are tied to school holidays would mean we had just a week in Florida before and therefore would be more limited for flights.
August means we have the whole month before to play with flights-wise but DH is concerned that, as it is hurricane season, we may have to do a detour and therefore miss some of the ports, which are why we really want this itinerary. Opinions welcome please- definitely a lovely decision to have to make but it is occupying far too much of my brain-power trying to make a decision! |

I'm considering a DCL in a couple of years and it's a no brainer for me - I don't have the best sea legs anyway and the last twice we have been to Florida Aug 16 and Sept 99 we experienced hurricanes. I'm looking at Easter as cannot risk being on a ship during a hurricane. Worried about how easy we'd get flights for Easter school hols though.

Thanks for your opinion, Geordieprincess.
Between you and DH you have persuaded me to go for April! Yippee! I am now seeing if I can stretch to the Norway cruise in August as well- might be pushing my luck there but no air fare to consider as from Dover! |
