Genie+ only available on the day in future?

Starting on June 8, 2022, Disney Genie+ will only be available to purchase on the day of your visit to a Walt Disney World theme park.

Odd. Wonder if this is too limited the amount of people who have it each day.

“With the launch of new bookings, we will also make an adjustment to how guests purchase Disney Genie+ service, which remains popular and in high demand amongst our guests. From the beginning, our goal has been to launch, learn and evolve as we see how guests are using this service.

Starting June 8, Disney Genie+ will only be offered for purchase through the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit – we will no longer offer the option to purchase this service pre-arrival as a ticket add-on for dates remaining in 2022 and in 2023.

This means that, moving forward, whether you have an Annual Pass, multi- or single-day ticket, you may only purchase Disney Genie+ service on the day of your visit via the app, one day at a time, subject to availability. We’re focused on delivering the best possible guest experience, and this adjustment will help manage the incredibly strong demand our guests have shown for Disney Genie+.”

Yes of course because we were offered it at a discount for buying in advance so there’s no way they would continue that. Just gets worse and worse.

I just don’t understand why we can’t go back to the old system
60 days out or 30 days out 🤷
I don’t mind paying for it, it’s going to be more stress again 😩

Just seems like there’s going to be so much to do at 7am each day - painful.

No longer able to pre purchase Genie+ before travel

Have just seen online that you will no longer be able to pre purchase Genie+ and can only add it on once in Florida!

Sorry long time lurker and first time poster so can’t post a link yet.

I've been in 2 minds about it for September but have been considering the advance purchase option due to the poor exchange rate making the break even point 7 days rather than 9. Was hoping to make a call nearer the time after seeing what the end of August crowds are like, but looks like I'll have to make that call sooner now

As I always say - WDWNT is not a credible source. Not to say whether this is true or not, but the last thing that caused a panic on here was categorically denied by Disney. Let’s wait and see if Disney themselves say this before we panic.
