This is why I struggled to get my normal work hotel within limits on the Sunday! I got something at Euston thankfully but they asked if I wanted to extend to Monday and the costs were insane

If you are going to Wimbledon look at Croydon cheaper than London close to the M25, good fast train lines to London and direct tram to Wimbledon

What was the reason? My property is on booking.com and if I overbook or cancel for any reason I have to pay the difference for alternative similar accommodation for the guests

Managed to get a Premier Inn at Earls Court. Double the price we normally pay.

It was the gloucester Road Ibis and they said it was closed.

I booked 6 months ago for 552 and they've offered two dorms for 725 and 835 in other areas.

I eventually booked a hotel in shepherd's bush for 1091!

We need three nights, so I think thats the issue. Absolute nightmare. I thought I was being good pre booking ahead of time.

Honestly it might be worth a phone call to Booking.com as they usually clobber the property for everything even travel expenses etc I would ask them to honour the original price at the new property especially as they are a chain

We ended up booking at Expedia now, so I doubt they'd help now ☹
