anyone tested positive the day before the flight?

hi,
we don't go till june but our balance is due next week... i'm getting very worried about the pre-travel tests, we are a family of 4 and are all vaccinated ( i currently have covid )
I am even thinking of just cancelling the holiday but i don't wanna break the kids hearts...
has anyone tested positive and not been able to travel? If so what happened re: insurance etc

thanks

Exactly the reason we’ve cancelled … that and funds to do what we want. It’s too stressful. I’d be so gutted if we couldn’t go last minute. I hope it all changes for next year but who knows!

We are a family group of 9 due to fly on 3 April. We're all getting really anxious about the prospect of testing positive. After having to reschedule 3 times I can't bear the thought of having to do it again at the last minute. All we can really do is limit our contact with others, but the grandkids are in school and can't do that. I guess we have to keep our fingers 🤞

In order to help reach a decision, why not talk to your insurance company today?

Other insurance companies are immaterial.

Just a thought

I would stay strong for your family and keep your plans.

We have often gone in hurricane season but never stressed about a cancellation.

OP. It is always in your mind and there is no point saying it isn't.

To me it's all about having a plan. If you 'fail to plan you plan to fail' as they say!

We went in mid February and from having that test at 8.00am until the results came through at 9.30am was a time to reflect and just mull over things. If one or both of us had tested positive then it would have been straight in to cancellation mode and a claim to the Insurer.

But I refuse to live like a hermit and hunker down until things improve such as tests going. Not that I am saying people who defer or delay are hermits but it's what I apply to myself.
For nearly 2 years I have had to comply with laws and rules (well some!) and now things have eased I intend to live life to the full.

Next week we have to have another Test for flying. Time will tell what happens but at the moment I am more interested in the price of diesel and researching car and flight prices for next year.

We are due to fly on Monday. There are six if us aged between 3 and 50. I understand it when people can't get excited until the tests have come back clear.

We all tested last night and all were clear. I realise things can change in an instant but I am trying not to think of the worst case scenario. I, like others, have rescheduled this trip many times so am hoping we can travel.

By the time you.travel, testing may not be required.

This is me at the moment, stressed because I have covid type symptoms although negative at mo, but people are coming down with covid in our village and we are due to fly next week, I wouldn't normally worry cos insurance pays out and you rebook another but our points need using by end of march for this visit

I could have written this exact post!
We fly on April 9th, test on 8th. Family group of 8, 3 kids all in different schools, rescheduled 3 times.
Finger crossed for us all!
