You don't have to book the Waterparks. Currently only Typhoon Lagoon is open as BB is closed for refurbishment so I guess it will be extra busy.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by sacrificing a theme park day to go to a waterpark. Yes, you do in the sense that you can't be in two places at once but if your ticket allows you to park hop (& I think the 7 day ultimate does), then you can do the waterpark for some of the day and then visit a theme park later. Someone wiser than me will hopefully come along to explain whether having a theme park reservation might stop you getting into the water park. If so, I guess you'd have to get on the waterpark and then make a theme park reservation for layer that day, assuming there's availability. |

If you mean will visiting a waterpark use up one of your 7 days on your ticket then yes it will. You could always do the waterpark in the morning and then a park in the afternoon/evening if you don't want to 'waste' a park day. You would still need to have the reservation for whatever theme park (not water park!) you would be going to as waterparks don't count in terms of park hopping.
Hope this helps. |

A water park will use one of your 7 days, but you could visit one of the parks and a water park the same day and that will only count as one day. Basically any day that you scan your tickets will count as a day used. I.e if you visit mini golf course, but do nothing else disney that day, that will use 1 of your 7 days.

The 7 day Ultimate tickets give you 7 days of use of the ticket. You "use" the ticket whenever you enter a theme park, water park, or mini-golf course. So if you go to one or more of those on any day then that will mean you've used your ticket that day. So...
In summary, if you use your ticket on any day, then it counts as using one day from your ticket.

The ticket is based on the number of days you use your ticket, not on the type of park you enter. In order to go to the mini-golf course, you need to use your ticket. Therefore, if you only go to the mini-golf one day then it will count as a day of use. Because you've used your ticket that day.
As it's based on the number of days you use the ticket then it doesn't matter how many places you visit on a single day, it still counts as one day of use. You could visit every mini-golf course, waterpark and main theme park in one day and that would only count as 1 day of use. Because you've only used your ticket on one day. Hence why they are called 7 day tickets. Not 7 visit tickets or 7 entries tickets. They will work on only 7 days.

Thanks all. I had no idea that when you used the 14 day tickets for mini golf it "charged" you a day. How interesting! Why did I not know this? 🤣 I have been so many times and have missed this vital piece of information. I knew the waterparks counted as a day but not the golf.

I think that's correct. I could be wrong though! Admittedly, I've never tried it. In recent years, I've always had 14 day tickets because they usually cost the same as 7 day tickets and I've never used the tickets over the full 14 days anyway.
I always assumed that if the ticket had 7 days or 14 days of use then it could only be used on 7 days or 14 days, which included using it to visit the mini-golf courses.
