This is the problem though. We wouldn’t want to be in the park all day with all that hanging around between ride slots. With FP plus I could book my 3 FP back to back and other than for the really popular rides could often bring each forward after scanning in to the previous one. In MK we would do all the rides this way. I could also potentially get more than one FP for a ride plus I was able to choose if I wanted to spend a morning, afternoon or evening in a park in advance. With Genie plus I have to pay for the experience of not being able to select a time that suits me and potentially if I do having it change by the time it confirms. We’re paying for a far inferior product than the one we got free.

Stacking does really work at Hollywood Studios in real life too. But I wouldn’t like those big gaps, I was getting things much closer together and more overlap for my HS days.

I couldn’t really get stacking to work for us at all. I could never get the times I wanted plus once you book them you’re kind of stuck with them because cancelling a stacked LL doesn’t always mean you can book another. It’s just so complicated and frustrating.

Oh I don’t disagree with you, trust me! I much prefer being able to choose my times the old way, this was just an experiment with the system we now have.
I’m travelling solo and have a full day at each park booked at least once so can certainly see why it’s different for different people. Plus that was obviously pretend. Not everyone hangs around between rides, I would go to the shows and ride some rides in the standby line. There was always something under an hour yesterday when I tracked it. What I miss the most actually with it was only being able to ride once with the LL. FP you could rebook the same ride as many times as you could get it. I looked back at my MK pretend day and got 13. Only triggered 120minute rule once. Looking at MK, you can do several fantasy land rides almost directly in a row some days. HS is well known as the hardest park to use it. The other 3 seem much easier to succeed. To the person above who asked about timings of my pretend bookings, I booked at: (all Florida times so add 5 hours) 7am Florida time, triggered 120minute rule. Park opened at 8:30, so next booking 10:30. 10:30 decided to try booking nearest rather than automatically doing 120 minutes again, so took a chance with Star Tours 15 minutes later. So 10:45 I tried same trick and book Olaf ( because I don’t want to queue for Olaf). 11:05 I could then book another so booked MMRMT. 2 hour rule. 1:05 booked next one (RnRC) 2 hour rule 3:05 TSM 2 hour rule 5:05 Smugglers Run 2 hour rule Then to be honest I didn’t check again because I wanted to go to bed! Across the day there were much faster bookings for Aliens, Muppets, Star Tours….but not worth using it I didn’t think. Time will tell for my true judgement |

Re stacking at DHS, this is what we did on Saturday:
07:01, booked Slinky Dog for 15:05-16:05. Had the choice of many earlier slots but kept refreshing until we got one late enough for our plans. At park open (8:30), booked Rise for 18:40-19:40. We are offsite and I was able to easily get this. 10:30 (2 hour rule), booked Tower of Terror for 17:45 - 18:45 12:30, booked Smugglers run for 16:35 - 17:35 14:30, booked rock and roller coaster for 18:40 - 19:40 16:30, booked Mickey and Minnie RR for 19:30 - 20:30. After 18:30, booked Midway Mania for 19:40 - 20:40. The LL times for this were pretty much immediate all day so I actually waited a while before booking to get a time that worked with our plans. Will probably be much less effective in true peak seasons (Christmas, Easter etc.), but we found it brilliant. |

Good to know booking Slinky first doesn’t necessarily mean not getting ToT. The Tower is my favourite, but 2 plus hours wait? No no.
I was coming to the conclusion that you had to make a choice between these two as they both seem to run out so quickly. |

I can’t remember exact hours but on the first day we were in for not long after park open (we were offsite that day), and stayed until after it had closed. Second day (Easter Sunday) was from about midday until early evening. Last day we were there all day too, and were staying on-site by then so went in for the extra 30 mins, staying till close. I will say that on our first day there we did have a sit-down meal at 50’s Prime Time, and on our last day we spent just under an hour in Oga’s. But still. We were unlucky I think - on our first day, as well as the long wait on Rise (it didn’t go down though as far as I can tell), ToT went down just after we’d got through the library. That said, it was our last ride and so our extra long wait for that (I didn’t count the mins tbh) was into park closing so it didn’t impact on the rest of our day.

See, we used to fair bash out the FP+, we really made it work. We clearly haven’t learned the Genie+ nuances yet…
