UK guests can still add Genie+ to their tickets for the length of the ticket. But only until Wednesday. After that the offer is withdrawn.

If you booked with a TA they should still be able to add it for you until then. But be quick. Many companies have taken the info off their website so you will have to phone to do it.

US guests never had this option anyway, I don’t think.

US guests have had this option for a while, however UK guests got the option first before them. The news yesterday was mainly about how US guests would no longer have the option to add Genie+ to their tickets from the 8th June - but it then quickly turned out that it also affects us UK guests as well.

Or you can add it on the day when you're over there using the MyDisneyExperience app, albeit only one day at a time.

You can't add "length of ticket Genie+" onto your existing tickets online. If you've already bought tickets and want to amend them to add Genie+ then you have to phone your TA or Disney (if you bought the ticket from Disney). Some TAs will not add on Genie+ for some reason.

Otherwise, you have to add Genie+ one day at a time each day you are over there using the app.

I didn’t think us guests got it at a reduced rate like uk do . And gill is right it’s now only until the 25th , they changed the date again yesterday

Yes, that's correct. US guests didn't get it at a reduced rate. However they still had the option to prepurchase Genie+ and add it to their tickets. The comment was about whether US guests had the option to add it, not about whether it came at a discounted rate.

US guests can add it to their tickets until 8th June, as per the announcement from Disney. It's UK guests that can't add it after 25th May. I did say "US guests would no longer have the option to add Genie+ to their tickets from the 8th June".

So, yes, Gill is correct for UK guests - which is probably the vast majority of the people reading this thread.

The thing that made me book was the thought that when we are there at Christmas it is rammed and they might only sell a certain amount so you could end up without it at all. Maybe too many people are buying it now and that’s why it’s not so good ?

I remember the uproar when it was $100 per person per day, now people look at the day price and just accept it

Sorry to hijack but I've just booked a week's stay for Christmas :-). In the past I've booked the tickets with my hotel stay through Disney. This time I need to book tickets separately. Hoping to go next August too so would look to upgrade when we're there if possible. What would you suggest for a 7 night stay in December? Should I pay slightly more for the 14 day ticket even though we'll only be there for 7 days (if looking to upgrade)?
