Highs and Lows
We got back yesterday and I was going to do a trip report but won’t have time so here are my highs and lows. We (me, DH, DD12 and DD11) stayed for 11 nights at AKL and then 7 in a villa at Hampton Lakes. We flew economy with virgin from Manchester.
Highs Twilight check in at MAN (I think we were the 2nd night of the trial) Partial Savannah view room at AKL, this was a lovely treat Fast passes. The queues weren’t bad when we were there other than the marathon weekend. I have heard they were awful the week we were in the villa. Free dining! It would have hurt to pay for some of the meals out of pocket. Surrey bike on the boardwalk. Absolutely hilarious and impossible to get over the bridge! BTM six times during the fireworks. Absolutely awesome. Hoop De Doo. Great fun and highly recommended. Eating around Epcot. Excellent use of snack credits. Frozen drinks! I will miss these along with French Vanilla coffee mate. The weather; it was beautiful with just a couple of amazing storms. The villa. It was far too big for us but lovely to have some space and very well equipped. Blue Man Group, got it for a bargain and it was hilarious. Spirit of the Swamp airboat. We saw so much wildlife and learnt loads. The outlets. Spent far too much but loved every second of it. Alamo. Upgraded us for pennies and let us switch halfway through the week for something more American. KSC - an amazing day out for all of us. Longhorns and Millers. We really enjoyed our meals here. Lows Building noise at AKL - started before 7am one morning directly above us. Storybook Dining - food was poor Expensive food shopping! Unbelievably expensive in fact. 18% tips Rude people pushing, shoving and ramming you with pushchairs etc Taco Bell/McDonald’s- yuk! There are many more highs, it was a brilliant holiday and we have made so many memories. We still had loads we wanted to do so will be going back some day we hope. |

We must have been there around the same time you - I agree the partial savannah views at AKL are great! we fell in love with this hotel. We were lucky to escape for a few days on the Disney Dream during the marathon weekend - I can imagine the crowds to have been extra bad during that time! Glad you had a fab holiday
