Another vote for Vero in the summer (winter it’s very different with snowbirds though) . We have friends who have retired there and it’s a complete chill out with great beaches (with free parking !) and some lovely places to eat and even shop. A lot of the properties aren’t zoned for short term lets which is why summer is quiet but the zoning allows for the longer lets beloved by the snowbirds who descend in winter.
We love it as we don’t want plenty to do as we will have Orlando for that and just enjoy the change of pace and it’s our down time. Edited at 11:42 AM. |

Great thank you - that’s exactly what we wanted!
What would you say about the weather in July though, Is it not worth it? Edited at 11:53 AM. |

I'd also go to the Gulf Coast with that amount of time. St Petes beach would be my first choice.
Siesta Key is also lovely. |

Delray Beach is my favourite beach town in Florida. Because it's about three hours south (Palm Beach County) it's too far for day trips from Orlando but totally worth the effort for three days. The beach is incredible and the main drag of Atlantic Ave is loaded with great dining and entertainment options. Small beach town vibe with bigger city amenities.

We prefer the West Coast beaches to East all day long. St Pete’s and Clearwater are really nice but if you can venture a little further afield, Fort Myers Beach and Naples amongst many others on the West Coast.

We really like St Petes. We went last year for 1 night and stayed at the Grand Plaza which was fab. The hotel could do with updating but the facilities and location are amazing. We are hoping to go for longer next time.
