Flight only question

I have booked for August all separately.

If the travel ban continues i understand BA will refund me the flights. BUT what if i dont want a refund? I got an amazing price on those August flights. If i chose to go at Christmas instead for example would they allow me to transfer those flights or is it refund only?

Understand this may be a hypothetical questions and I could ask BA myself but under the circumstances I think they are rather busy and id rather not distract them!

I have insurance but i dont think its an insurance issue

Virgin are saying you have to pay the difference if the price for the re arranged flight is different. Presumably BA will do they same

What happens if the flight is cheaper? I’m going in July & payed £750 each for 4 of us. If we have to move dates I’ll be moving to Oct or Nov what if they’re cheaper? Will they refund the difference?

I'm sure BA have already said that you can transfer to a future date but would have to pay the difference in fare

For flights up to the 31st May if you wish not to travel Ba will give you a voucher to be used anytime, to anywhere in the next 12 months. If your new flight is more, you pay the difference. if however your new flight is cheaper they will give you another voucher for the difference. If like me you have paid for extras like extra legroom they will transfer that to your newly booked flight. Obviously if they cancel your flight you have the option of getting a full refund or booking new flights.

Re all the above, the airlines are waving the normal fee for making any changes to you booking.

My big worry is that the airlines actually go under if this all keeps up for a few months.

I rescheduled a Ryan air flight today due to a cancellation - the new flight I booked was more expensive but because they cancelled I didn’t have to pay any extra. What I’m trying to say is that if Ryan air let me change for free surely the bigger companies will also ?

TBh I'm surprised at Ryanair doing that but I would be even more surprised if any other Airline followed suit! My sister's are due to fly to Mexico with BA & have currently been offered a voucher to use at a later date, I don't believe it mentions anything about not paying the extra IYKWIM

They offered me either a refund or change for free! I’ve been very impressed with Ryan Air tbh
