Bifold or french doors?
Morning dibbers, any thoughts on the above?
We're hoping to have a kitchen alteration later in the year and will have a 1800mm space to put either french doors or bifolds. I basically want to be able to open the doors fully hence not choosing sliding doors. Anyone have any experience of one over the other? My only thought about the bifolds is that they might not look great as the space isn't particularly big. Many thanks 🙂 |

For the size of the space french doors at 900 I think is to wide and the bi fold should be great.

We are thinking the same . We have a 1700 window but depending on how we re-organise could potentially have up to 2400 so thinking bifolds.
Our conservatory french doors are 1800 and are just right / normal so don’t think they would’ve too wide for yours if that’s what you choose - if we go for French doors ours would probably be 1800

Had two sets of bifolds added last year - loving them! Especially as outside we don’t have both doors (like you would with French doors when open) to accommodate. The light they allow in is fantastic and really brings the outside in.

Ours is a window too at the minute which is 1800 by fully opening the area. My thoughts are for the bifolds it would either need to be 3 narrow panes of glass? Not sure if that would look ok or not?
Our current patio doors are changing to a window (also 1800mm), they are older style with only half of it opening and its just not enough practical space. Think if you have up to 2400mm that would be a fabulous space for bifolds. |

Our bifold doors are 2.4m wide and we have 3 glass panels. We love them and they’ve been open all weekend.😀
