Virgin reward seats - all gone quiet
Booked my outbound flight 3 weeks ago and have been waiting for the return to become available (LHR - MCO). Whilst the outbound calendar has continued to add fresh dates the return availability hasn’t changed at all, apart from people booking seats. Is there any pattern to how they release seats? I’m signed up to SeatSpy but just find it odd how one leg is being updated and return almost seems to be getting ignored

I usually just cancel them as there is a £30 cancellation charge per person and book MCO have you got enough points to book both lots in theory as it takes a few days for the points to come back to your account. Are you hiring a car is there no way you can go out of Miami the drive down is very easy virtually straight about 3 hours x

I was told by a FC agent a few weeks ago that there would virtually no UC realised availability in future because they were reconfiguring the plane layouts from MCO. Not sure why this would only affect return leg though - so it might be the proverbial red herring. Have you tried calling or emailing FC? They might be able to tell you when they will be released.

I spoke to them a couple of weeks ago and they said as they are trying to recoup as much money as possible there wont be many reward flights being released if at all. I was looking at companion flights, miles plus money and upgrades. Just to use some miles up! He said keep checking but i wanted to book there and then so ended up booking Aer Lingus instead!

Thanks all. I rang them (50 minutes on hold) and the advisor said he was confident they would release some but the commercial team were assessing demand and even considering adding extra flights. Twitter reply was slightly less helpful as claimed I’d probably missed release and they’d all gone (I haven’t, been tracking for ages)
