Which restaurant oop for a treat meal?

We are booked for next May on the 2 nights free offer so will be paying oop for food. Planning on using QS options most of the time but want to treat ourselves to one nice meal. It's between Captain Jack's and Chez Remy. Which would you choose?

For me it's Remy's, but I can't compare as I've never done Captain Jack's.

I have eaten in Remy's twice and it was lovely both times. I'd love to eat in Captain Jack's, the atmosphere etc., looks amazing. It's the menu that discourages me.

I'd recommend you have a little look at the menus and see what you'd prefer. Remy's does only have set menus, whereas Captain Jack's has other options, too. X

I’ve done both before when on a meal plan, and will be paying OOP for chez remy when I go this year. The food and atmosphere are great and definitely worth it imo. Captain jacks has an amazing atmosphere but I didn’t find the actual food quality to be very good. X

Both are great. Captain Jack appears sometimes in his restaurant. However for me Remey is the choice. Theming and atmosphere are great and the food is pretty good.

Captain Jack’s is very heavy on seafood and relies a little too much on coconut, mango and pineapple. I get the ‘Caribbean’ connection but it just overdoes it in my view. It’s nice though.

Remy’s would be my choice though. Limited menu but lovely steaks and great theming.

Thanks everybody. I will definitely look at the menu options closely. It seems that Chez Remy is the winner here. Will need to set a reminder so I can get a reservation.

On our last trip Capt Jacks was better than Remys.
There was a music group at the entrance.
The POTC atmosphere/food/service was great.
Kids were big fans of Capt Jack and he was a lot of fun to meet.
He spent 10 mins chatting.
We thought it was one of the best Disney dining experiences we have ever done.
So a vote for Capt Jacks

We've done both and were both good but I felt Captain Jacks had better food, vegetarian wise. I love spice and coconut so I think that might be a personal preference. None of us eat seafood and felt there was plenty of choice.
Atmosphere was great in both but I think Captain Jacks had an edge for us.
