Tell me about POFQ...
So, a quick look at the Dining release /unrelease post this morning looked like Standard rooms would be included at POFQ but only preferred rooms at POR. A quick look at today's prices suggests POFQ would be about £600 less for our two rooms that POR.
I like the look of the resort very much, but please could anyone tell me what it is like to stay there? What are the buses like? Is it easy to get to POR to use the dining facilities, pool etc? Is it a relaxing resort? Is it far from the standard rooms to the food court? Anything at all you can tell me would be amazing. Thank you Or... would you say that POR is actually worth £600 more than FQ? ( I hope you're going to say no! ). |

I prefer FQ. The rooms are lovely. The resort is very pretty. It’s smaller than riverside so everything is convenient. It’s not far from any room to the food court or the bus stop.
You can walk to riverside for their food court. Time will depend on which room you are in. Some will be very close. |

POFQ is a lovely resort! It's really tiny too, so it doesn't matter which block you're in, you're really close to everything - hence why it doesn't have preferred rooms. There's only 1 bus stop, so that's very convenient, and the food court and pool are good too. POR is also lovely, but much bigger, hence it having 4 bus stops. It's an easy 5-10 minute stroll along the river to get there and nice for a change of scenery, food court, pool etc.
Personally, I wouldn't pay £600 more to stay at POR over POFQ. That money could be much better used elsewhere

Just a warning that we are booked for POFQ next month. I booked release day last year and there were no standard rooms available for French Quarter on release for the time we wanted. There was nothing mentioned that they weren't part of free dining. We had to book garden view. They did appear sporadically but I know many others couldn't get standard rooms either.

I've stayed at both and definitely preferred FQ over Riverside. FQ is a smaller resort and feels far more homely. It takes less time to walk from the pool/food court/buses back to your room. We also found the buses slightly better as there is only one pickup location and you don't have to travel all the way around the loop like you do at Riverside.
Overall I'd choose FQ again in a heartbeat, Riverside...maybe not so much. Go with FQ!

Thanks for asking. I was just about to post something very similar as we're looking at POFQ.
I found it helpful to watch a couple of YouTube videos. The Tim Tracker POFQ ones were pretty good 🙂 |

I've been looking on a site called portorleans.org which was really helpful and you can look inside the rooms using touring plans website.

We stayed at the French Quarter in March and loved it. We would definitely stay there again. Our room was building one next to the river, so to get to the pool, washing facilities, dining hall etc took less than 5 mins walk. The food court was fantastic, great choice through the day (try the Mickey beignets they are yummy).
Transport the boat is easy to use to get to riverside (also an easy walk by the river) and Disney springs. Disney buses was easy to use out front of the main reception and as the resort is so intimate compared to others no matter what building you are in won’t take you long to walk there (around 5 minutes or less depending on which one). If free dining is on for next year we would definitely look into booking this resort again. |

Thanks for asking, I hope you don't mind me adding an extra question. What do the standard rooms look out on? On one website, it says they look out at the parking, but on another it says they look over resort landscaping or courtyards.
