Braces again

I got Damon brace system fitted nearly two weeks ago
Last few days I’ve noticed my teeth look lot more yellow thou I’ve been cleaning them well
Is this normal and anything I can do

I’m not sure there is, as cleaning is more difficult with those braces, but, when they removed mine they gave them a really good polish and this made them beautifully white again.

In the meantime I guess just try and brush the best you can with a whitening toothpaste and avoid coffee/red wine etc?

I am probably going to have to get my braces refitted as I stupidly stopped wearing my retainer at night and am now noticing trapped food issues again… expensive mistake!

Its not hard to wear, just not particularly nice! Mine were seven years old, getting cracks etc so I impulsively threw them away after getting an ulcer, I should have gone to the orthodontist and asked for new ones, would be a lot less costly and intrusive than starting all over again! Couldn’t believe how quickly they reverted once I stopped wearing them….

I had metal fixed braces as a kid, then ceramic braces in my late 20s and last year 4 months worth of smile direct to 're-tweak' my teeth back into position.

Thing I'm liking about smile direct is that I can get a new retainer automatically every six months with them which I know will keep my teeth sitting where they should be! I know how important the retainer is and it's worth it for me to have a fresh one every six months. It feels quite tight and uncomfortable the first few times you get a new retainer but soon feels comfortable again

I get my DS a new retainer every 12 months or so from our dentist. We have the plaster tooth impression so we just take that back to reception and its done in a couple of days. It costs around £25 per arch
