AirBnB in California

Hi all,
We have our first California trip planned for California this year, starting in San Francisco and ending in LA.
We are looking at a Hotel for SF but then maybe AirBnB/Rentals for the other stops, as below. Any advice from previous experiences or decent hotels would be greatly appreciated.
Yosemite
Monterey
Route 1
Anaheim
Hollywood

Hi we used Airbnb in San Fran , chestnut st , fantastic with of road parking and in a nice area.
For Monterey we stayed on an Airbnb in the Pacific grove area and again very handy to all we needed to do.
Yosemite as there where just the 2 of us we used the blue butterfly bnb, not cheap but again one of the best places we have ever stayed. But have a look at the Yosemite view lodge which is at el portal and near the park entrances.
On the PCH we used Airbnb in Santa Barbara .
We have not done LA on our last couple of trips but when we did we stayed close to Disney in one of the hotels.
For Airbnb we always check reviews and look for super hosts.

Airbnb are/were up to Jan technically illegal in LA (well any house sharing ) - but they do exist and as they are not regulated (and often get closed down before people’s have booked arrive) there have been all sorts of problems recently -use them in LA with a huge amount of caution

We stayed in an amazing Air BnB in Pacific Grove which is the town/village next to Monterey. I actually preferred being here than Monterey itself. Check out my trip report for photos and I’ll send you the details if you like it

We have booked some AirBNBs for this years trip, Lake Tahoe, Pismo, Six Flags, and Anaheim, we read reviews thoroughly and googled mapped the areas. Some are quite quirky little places and we are looking forward to our adventures.
Smithlane stayed in a lovely Airbnb in Pacific Grove if you read their trippie you'll see it.
