Mobile Induction hob - taking a looong time to boil?

Just switched to an induction hub. Absolutely love it apart from the fact it seems to take ages to bring to the boil - have noticed it when making frozen brussel sprouts. We are using ProCook granite pots. Any ideas what we’re doing wrong? Thanks!

Is granite magnetic - according to the info in another thread on here a fridge magnet should stick to the base. Otherwise you might need new pans.

I’ll do the magnet check, thanks. They should be ok, though, just bought them for the our new kitchen and were advised they were suitable for induction.

Some pans seem better than others. I have a Tower set that take ages to boil and a stainless steel set that are really quick to boil. Both are magnetic but one set is definitely better than the other.

I have a mix of ikea stainless steel pots and tefal flying pans. Both of these are excellent

Thanks! I read after I bought my new set that stainless steel works best with induction 🙈. That might be the issue.

Thank you. wish I had gone for stainless steel now. Definitely the case that some pots are better suited than others.

Also how many induction "rings" are you using at once? If you use them all and the power supply is not large enough then the power to each ring is "choked"

Our hobb likes big pans better, we have a centre ring that really doesn't boil well with small pans.

We were only using the one. Good to know this, though, thanks.
