Doing Disney Alone with 2 Kids
I am going next year with my 2 kids who will be almost 4 and almost 6. We went last year along with their dad who is not coming this time (we are not together). I would like to do some research into the things we can and can’t do when we are there. We are at Disney’s Coronado Springs hotel and have upgraded to full dining. Intending to do character meals and other dining. But what I’m concerned about is rides, will I be able to take both of them on the majority of things that are suitable for their height? We visited a local theme park at the weekend and couldn’t go on quite a few rides as they sat 2 in each bit. Also any other top tips are massively appreciated

I know exactly what you mean about the smaller theme parks. Legoland Windsor and Chessington were very difficult with 1 adult and 2 young children. Disney is very different. Most of the cars are big enough for all 3 of you. I wouldn't worry af all. There is loads you can do as 3.

Thank you, I was just starting to become a little concerned. We went last year but their dad came too and we had 1 child each I really can’t rememeber what the layout of seats was etc. It’s a lot of money to spend if you can’t go on anything

I’ve been with 2 children on my own (they were a little older than yours)
But as mentioned there are lots of rides that will accommodate 3 in a car and probably only a few like Thunder Mountain, Seven Dwarfs that don’t (can’t be sure about the small children’s rides like dumbo) Is there any specific ride you were hoping to go on or concerned about ?

Excited about Disney

We went as two adults and a seven year old in May and it was only the rollercoasters that were for two people, including Splash Mountain. I think your younger child would be too small for those anyway. All the rides for younger ones take three as I remember.

Hi,
I went last year on my own with 3 kids who were 8, 6 and 4. Kids can ride alone if they are 7 years or older. My 8 and 6 year old rode together and I rode with my 4 year old. My 6 year old was only asked once her age and that was on 7 dwarfs mine train. She just said she was 7. Would your 6 year old be ok riding on their own, infront of behind you? As someone else said, there are still plenty of things you will be able to go on as a three. |

I've taken my 2 to Disney on my own and we had an awesome time.We originally went to DLP when they were 3 and 6 as it was the only theme park where we could ride everything together without needing another adult. Once DS1 turned 7 he could ride on his own so he started going off and riding the bigger rides on his own. At WDW in February we had such a full week that we couldn't do everything we wanted to! And this was without being tall enough for Splash and Thunder.
We only went to Legoland for the first time this summer as DS1 was tall enough to ride alone and DS2 was tall enough to ride everything. I'd go to DLP or WDW over any other park with small DCs! |
