Tinned fruit and carnation and I was weened on carnation milk, I was such a fat baby 👶
My mum would make apple and pear tarts, pies and crumble because we had apple and pair trees in the garden, I had cream can’t stand custard.

We often had tinned fruit, usually fruit cocktail with carnation, birds trifle in the box or jelly & blancmange but my all time favourite was those Birds packet mix hot crunch puddings, lemon & banana flavour 😍 at my grans we had jam pie, leftover pastry with jam spread over & a lattice on top with custard

Custard or rice with a blob of jam 😂

Or flavoured custard the mixed packet and you could pick which flavour you wanted, banana, chocolate, strawberry, raspberry or vanilla .

Oh that reminded me
We used to have rice pudding with a blob of jam!
Used to mix it all until the rice pudding went pink!

We also had for 'puddings', and these were always occasionally - never after every Sunday dinner, jelly, angel delight, make your own from a box trifle and the popular fruit cocktail and evaporated milk (fighting over the ONE cherry per tin! ) sometimes just cling peaches or mandarin segments in evaporated milk.
