Villa Options - August '22
Hi All,
Previously when we have visited Orlando we have booked a villa through the Dibb, which have all been great. However, I appreciate that a lot has changed over the last 18 months and had no responses to my villa request, which is not an issue, as we are looking for August '22 and perhaps availability is scarce now. I will have another search on Dibb for available villas but it made me think though to look at other villa options and was hoping others may be able to offer their advice/opinion/experience on alternative places to look in terms of villa hire. Any responses are appreciated. Regards Pete |

We've booked 2 villas for next June/July on Vrbo. There was lots of choice, perhaps too much so took us a while to narrow it down.
We paid deposits and had confirmation from the villa owners within minutes. Balance doesn't need to be paid until between 2-4 weeks before. So I'm happy with Vrbo and feel safe in that it's a big company with cancellation policies in place. Each villa owner has different cancellation policies so make sure you check them out before you book. They also seemed cheaper than on Airbnb but again plenty of choice on there too. Have fun choosing |

We have found the prices have risen so much over the past 2 years. The villa we booked for a week for August 20 (cancelled due to Covid) is now double the cost to rebook for August 22. It's putting us off the villa option which is a shame.

Prices have definitely sky rocketed on villa's - I was looking at one a few months back for Feb 2023 it was just over $6000 then and now is has gone up by over $3000

It’s cheaper to stay onsite! Really putting us off trying a Villa to be honest. I can understand prices going up but not that much!
We booked a Villa for Aug 2020 £1200 for a week. The same Villa is £2700 for Aug 2022.

You could try directvillasuk and orlandovillas, they both book direct with owners. I am looking for next May, and had a large response with some very reasonable prices on both sites. 😀

With owners having to move bookings over the past 18 months you might find availability with UK owners a
little tight as a lot have moved 2020 and 2021 bookings to 2022 and even 2023, Owners costs have increased substantively during the pandemic and sadly they have to pass those increases on to renters to survive as they are simply not in a position to absorb the increases. Just like the airlines, car hire companies and the theme park operators, villas have not escaped the cost increases. Steve Edited at 07:49 PM. |
