Sorry... another ESTA question.

Filling them out as we speak, 3 down 2 to go!
A question re my son, he is a full time student at uni (18) he has no job so do I put not employed? He had a summer job last year for 2 months that is it. Do I need to put that in?

I would forget the part time summer job. Say "no" to being employed

there's no option for student now, just have you got an employer or previous employer?

Thanks Mick, just needed that little bit of reassurance.

That's OK. It just seems that most of my responses to ESTA questions this last few months is "don't overthink it". I certainly have no intention of being rude but the questions are not there to trick you. Just put the natural answer.

I posted yesterday about a similar question on parent's names. Joan's dad died in 1966 and USA Immigration would have absolutely no idea what his name was. They are just another layer of security.

In the 8 years since ESTAs were introduced I've not seen a single Dibber reporting that the IO asked them where they work or what their dad's name was.

These are just another layer of security, they are not checked. Just tell your son you have put no for current or previous employed incase ( never known it) he is asked at the immigration " you you had a job" and he says " Yes I did for a few months" which will be in conflict with the information he has on his screen!

You could easily put either, just remember what you have said!

My daughter will be 18 and is just doing her A Levels. I just did our ESTAs and did put her part time job. Not sure it really matters tho.
