Hmm. Slightly panicking now. We are in Scotland too and the flight schedule isn’t resuming until August for our route. I wasn’t expecting the apartment to be refunded tbh. They have a business to run, they are open for business, not their fault we can’t get there. We genuinely couldn’t reschedule for this year or else we would have done so. Hope the insurance reimburses us 😬

Hopefully everything works out for you. Different insurers might be different but as usual they will use any reason not to pay out. Thinking about it again the hotel voucher might have been valid until the end of next year. Think it was maybe the flight voucher for our return flight that may have been 12 months which is why we had to go in that timeframe. At worst hopefully you can go next year but hopefully insurance works out for you 🤞

Phone them, slightly different circumstances as we had an Amsterdam hotel booked with them, called them & explained that flights were cancelled, whilst on the line they spoke to the Hotel, who agreed to waive any fee & my monies were returned. Now I'm not saying that's what will happen but if you can't get there... I believe it is down to your US Hotel waiving any fee though
