Universal hotel throwaway booking
I’m just wondering if anyone has done a throwaway booking with a universal hotel?
How does it work and what are the benefits? Thanks in advance |

It isn't really a throwaway, you just don't stay, you have to be staying at RPR/HH or PB to get any perks/benefits which are basically Unlimited Express passes for check-in & check out- no other discounts- but at £300/night I wouldn't be "throwing" anything away! You can't exceed occupancy so for instance can't check in 6 to a 4 person room IYKWIM Apart from that all the resorts get early entry into the Wizarding World (an hour I think)

Wishful thinking Where you are getting "mixed up" is Disney (did) allow you to book the Campsite at Fort Wilderness, around $80/night I think, that used to get you free parking, free magic bands etc for up to 10 guests, only 1 person needed to check in but Universal all guests must check in as your Express pass is your room key. RPR is the cheapest of the 3, we paid £272 for a night last year, but I think for 6 you would be looking at 2 rooms but it's still a good deal as far as express passes are concerned as 2 days would probably cost you the best part of +£800 & 2 rooms would "only" be £600

Have you tried getting a price in dollars from the Lowes website?
We booked The Royal Pacific directly with them last year for one night for $319, which worked out significantly cheaper than buying the unlimited Express Pass for two days. We also booked our Universal park tickets (2 day, 2 park) via the US web site which worked out cheaper than buying the tickets that they want to sell to the UK / Europe market.

What about booking the room and checking in with 5 people and paying for the express pass for the other person? You will need to pay for an extra bed but don’t think it’s expensive.
EDIT: Rollaway bed is $35 per night and parking is $28 per night so you get 2 days parking for that.

Yeah 4 in a room plus 1 on a rollaway bed. Nothing to stop 5 checking in and only 2 staying or whatever way you would plan to split up your party.
