Need a holiday because I’m going on holiday!
I’ve been so stressed at work the past few weeks and really feel I need my holiday. Today I realised that part of the reason I’m so stressed is trying to tidy everything up to go on annual leave! Anyone else feel that the reason you need a holiday is because you’re going on holiday?

waiting impatiently...!

It certainly takes its toll in the lead up ... also on return it takes me at least a week to catch up with emails etc. Totally worth it though

Snap! I am the same rushing around trying to sort everything out. I feel time is flying in now and I still have lots to do. I am sure we will all have fab holidays though.

I know when I leave tomorrow afternoon (as early as I possibly can!) I’ll feel like a weight has gone but I spent today replying to emails saying “I can’t, I’m on annual leave” and trying to make sure everything I can think of is covered. I’m only off a week!

My kids are always baffled as to why I clean and tidy the house just to go on holiday when no one’s going to be there😂

Yes! I am always totally stressed on my last day at work. I'm office manager so I have to make sure I've done as much as I can so that there is less pressure on the other girls while I'm gone. I normally always end up working late getting things done, which doesn't help the stress levels. I'm always more than ready for my holiday by then
Have a great time

I know exactly what you mean re organising things a work, but also if you're like me you are also blitzing the house so it will be tidy on return from holiday as well as packing and arranging everything whilst you are away
Have a fantastic holiday |

Yes I am exactly the same! I’m a self employed beauty therapist so work right up until the evening before we fly getting everyone ready for their hols, I then have to rush doing my own prep. I feel completely exhausted by the time I switch off, I would love just once to be able to go and get my nails done by someone else! I’m then back to work literally the day after we land, doesn’t matter if that’s a Sunday so after a few days it feels like I haven’t even been on holiday 😩
First world problems eh 😬 Oh and have a fab time, looking forward to reading all about it |

Because who wants to come home to a dirty house .
Thanks! Thanks! The housework is being left for my only other days off this week . Thanks! That sounds much worse being self employed. At least if everything goes wrong while I’m away someone else will need to deal with it . |

Yes. The run up before our trip in 2015 we had bought a derelict house and I had work travel and hassle there so I was mega stressed. I'll be honest it wasn't a great trip as we couldn't unwind and were both exhausted and grumpy. We said for this year- we'll make sure we're calm and not busy in the run up! Well what's happening- house is still uninhabitable yet we're having to move in as we've sold our flat, I'm in a much more stressful job with much more travel plus some more professional exams! I'm filled with trepidation if I'm honest and kind of wish I just had the fortnight off to sleep and catch up with life admin!
