A Guest at All-Stars

I do sympathize with the OP though. We had a few photopass photos taken around the entrance to Epcot and in every one a construction board is visible. Same with the tree of life in Epcot.
It's fine for us as we've been before and will go again, but if it's once in a lifetime it can be annoying. But on the flip side, how else can they do it. |

When we were there in the summer this year, I thought the worst of the scrim was at the tv at Magic Kingdom. The trams dropped you off before the tunnel and it was a long walk in the blazing sun/horrendous thunderstorm. However, once on the ferry or monorail things improved. But that first bit was very far from magic.

I very much disliked the entrance to Epcot. I am pretty happy that it's being reimagined. With the Skyliner going to the World Showcase entrance from AoA I'm pretty happy that our visit next year won't be disrupted at all.
To be perfectly honest, we wouldn't have went near any of the bits that are closed. We were last in WDW in 2018, so new for us next year will be Galaxies Edge, Ratatouille, Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Coaster, Disney Junior Dance Party, Lightening McQueens Race School, Epcots new show and I'm sure plenty other things that will happen in the next 14 months as well. The construction work will be very invasive. Dont worry about it. You most likely wont even notice it. |

Hi kennycapes. We, like you, have been saving for 4 years and this will be our 'once in a lifetime trip', unless we win the lottery. We've been desperate to return to WDW, having been there for our honeymoon in 2007 and looking forward to returning with our two boys. Like others have said, there's always going to be work going on and yes, it's a shame that we won't get to go on Spaceship Earth but we are so excited to being going regardless. I've read hundreds of trip reports, planned like crazy and I can't wait! I know we won't be let down. There's so many other amazing things to see and do. I'm sure you'll have an incredible time too 🙂

I’m not worried at all - I think it’s interesting to see and let’s face it, most of the work is to an entrance of a park, no biggie really.
If you want to avoid to work you can always go into Epcot through the international gateway and you won’t need to see that much of it👍

Agree with you on this, although we often walk it anyway, it was fat from a nice start to the day with this whole thing and was a nightmare in heat for many. They have to do these things sometime i know but I thought this could have been better managed, it’s such a long way in and out of MK as it is. Plus the fact they were doing entrance work and changes in Epcot at the same time.
Doesn’t really matter but the feeling of the place is a big part of the magic. Just think they could have found ways to better manage. The worst thing was getting on a tram in parking lot and then finding it just took you round the corner a little bit and having a longer walk under the bridge etc! |

I’m going next year and a bit sad about the closures and changes in Epcot and the way everything will look. Luckily this isn’t our first time but if it was we would be disappointed.
Ps op..don’t ever say sorry for your post and how you are feeling some people on here will make you feel bad over everything |

It’s a shame they’re now also closing Test Track early next year as well.
I do appreciate the concern about the look of the place with closures. I’ve been a few times before although took my family to Epcot for the first time this week and the atmosphere is not what I’d been selling it to them as. Due to so many screens being put up it’s had the effect of making the place feel far more congested. Future world is no where near the relaxing meander I’ve experienced before. This coupled with the less than child friendly atmosphere in world showcase due to the amount of people who’ve had too much to drink hasn’t left them with the most positive impression of what was previously my favourite park. The jostling in world showcase was bad enough the other night that I had to carry my 4 year old after her being bowled over more than once. I understand the alcohol debate is something else entirely although it’s difficult not to mention when talking about how the screens are affecting the feel of the park and how people respond to the narrower walkways, particularly in the evenings. World Showcase feels more like a town centre on a Saturday night than what I’ve experienced there before. Perhaps it’s just like this during food and wine but it’s a shame it feels far less child friendly. |
