Yes, 2 year use from date of issue for either renting points or cash bookings at Disney including cruises.

So if he goes bust are you still able to use it?

No but I would hope at that point the insurance would pick it up. Or the credit card S75.

We hope to use it either later this year or early next.

Fingers crossed, both renters and owners stand to be massively out of pocket if he goes under.

I’m not sure David’s vouchers are dodgy nor am I sure he will go bust (just pure speculation by a few posters on the other board). I would guess he operates from cheap premises and his main cost is staffing- and the Canadians are paying furlough.

I’m all for going after those travel companies refusing refunds, but here David’s were like a pure agent and there is a contract between the renter and rentee.

I think here David’s, when all he is is a facilitator (yes taking commission), giving a voucher and I assume being hit personally in the pocket to provide this alternative, isn’t actually bad of him on his part.

I’m not saying he’s done wrong, but how sustainable is it for him to give a voucher for the cost of something which is way in excess of his commission?

In my case he’s making $186.

If he has people bouncing back on credit cards, plus owners not being able to rebook because points expire, he’s being hit by both sides.

I hope his business is ok, and I hope everyone gets what they have agreed.

No our insurance won't cover it
Why won't your insurance cover it?

In that case he should have business insurance to cover loses like this, same as any other business should.

Has anyone seen any proof of any business being able to claim for loss of business during the pandemic? I haven't heard a single mention of it including in guidance from HMRC and the Institute of Chartered Accountants regarding ways to help businesses survive the crisis.
