If the contracted service could not be provided they should legally refund 100% as provided under the Consumer Rights Act.

Suggest anyone who is in this position reverts to the company and requests FULL reimbursement. If they refuse, as Tom suggests s.75 or chargeback should be the route to follow.

May be hard on the business, but that's not your issue. You are not a free bank or grant giver. Andy has, as always, got this spot on.

If the rental centre is open which it could well be then they can supply the service. It's not their fault we can't travel and in this case their contract conditions apply.

Not sure you can S75 it either as that is also about failure to supply a service which they can do if the rental centre is open.

Chargeback may be the appropriate route though.

Just to say I messaged them yesterday to say my 60 days for the refund was up and they got back in about 1 hour to say it was processed and on its ways. So a quick response this time from them.
