New York - where concrete dreams are made of travel day

Awake before the alarm again, I shower and make a lovely cup of tea. I always find you don’t get left with enough milk or sugar in your room upon check in at premier inn so when we was at McDonald’s yesterday I grabbed a load of moo milk sachets and sugar sachets and popped them in my bag. Perfect!

We chose Heald Green as it was closer to APH parking but really premier inn ruggers lane wasn’t that too far away either. Lee was a bit disappointed as he would of liked run way view...
Quick drop off and off to the airport we go.
We had gone premium economy this time with TC and was a little bit early, we had booked espire lounge and wanted to make use of our 3 hours. Who was checking in beside us? Orlando flight🥴😭 I did wonder if I could jump ship lol
All checked in, tickets printed and a quick grope at security (always me! ) and we rocked up to espire lounge. Very nice plenty of choice and a window with chairs with a run way view. I was in my element!

Soon our gate was announced so we made tracks to get ready to board.
What a shambles, they kept moving premium line and economy line, no one knew what they was doing or us where to stand!
Finally, we got to board and sat at our seats.
Arrived to New York, and the queue for immigration was stupid! 2.5 hours it took with the board only saying 40 mins for returning ESTAs. Finally we get through and I gave my hubby the option of catching a yellow cab 🚕 or the air train and subway.
Air train and subway it was so we made tracks to catch the air train. $5 each to exit the air train I then bought 2 metro cards for 7 days for unlimited travel. Total cost $64. Not bad considering it would cost this alone for the taxi to the hotel.
Got lost a little at our stop, port authority bus station but soon with google maps found our hotel, oh and a Carlos bakery on the way 😆
Hotel was lovely.
Room with a view was requested and they did not disappoint! 27 floors of the yotel hotel and we was placed on the 26th with the view of Empire State Building

Chucked our bags in and had a quick refresh and off we went to to Empire State Building.

Off to bed at 10. We was shattered and had a date tomorrow with lady liberty!
