Longer term rental
I would like some information on longer term villa rental.
I am thinking of spending 4-6 weeks in the autumn in Florida although it may be the spring instead and I would like to think I could get a deal on weekly prices. I also have a friend who formerly lived in Florida and is currently looking into what she calls short term rental in Florida for the summer month from May to October. Regular apartment rentals start at 6 months although a lot are for a year minimum. At this early planning stage I would like to think I could get rates under £1500 per 4 week/month. Any info would be appreciated even it is to tell me I am being unrealistic. Tks |

Short term rentals are vacation rentals ie villas town houses condos etc
January February March are the peak times for longer STR bookings With what we call snowbirds folks escaping cold winter storm in Canada further North in the US and now more often than before folks from the UK It would all depend on what size style and location of property you would want as to what your budget might get or if you might need to Negotiate separately for utilities etc on top Spring is also very busy with spring break Easter etc Hope that helps |

You also need to be careful to only look at furnished rentals. The ones you have seen for 6m or a year are likely to be unfurnished. As Gryff mentioned negotiating utilities separately may be cheaper but the bills tend to be higher than the UK.

I think you'll find more choice and cheaper rentals if you were to go before Christmas rather than in spring which as Gryff says above is peak season - from January to May.
Have you thought about a condo at the beach? A month is often the minimum rental period. It would have to be in the autumn though. If you're thinking about spring 2021 you'd probably need to be putting your deposit down now. I've got my Rotonda villa booked for Easter 2021. As time goes on only the scruffy looking and overpriced are left. Edited at 09:11 AM. Reason: Extra |
