Do I need to book restaurants?

We have half board plus going Sun-Wed mid December. How do I know if booking times will clash with shows we might want to see, especially when the park shuts at 7pm? Due to fussy family members I am only looking at Plaza gardens, hunters grill and Annettes.

Plaza Gardens is a standard restaurant, so really you're stepping down a grade, but it sounds like for good reason! 😂

That restaurant usually has pretty long opening hours, so you'd have plenty of choice of times. Hunters Grill opens at 6, until about 11, I think. Annette's you can't make reservations for, but it tends to be open late, as it's in the village.

The main parade is usually 5/5:30pm. The xmas parade is usually on at least a couple of times a day, and illuminations is always at park closing time.

Hope that helps a little bit. Xx

There will also be a tree lighting ceremony.

And in the Studios there will be the Big Band show, Mickey’s Surprise and I think the Goofy show too which you should not miss!

Book them online. It only takes a few minutes. However, you will need to do a little guesswork with the parade times as dec times are not released.

Since park closes at 6/7pm then add or remove time. Annette's diner would be. at least 1.5 hour after closing time due to exit crowd and fireworks time (for example). Problem is, no ADR for Annette's and it would be a long queue straight after fireworks. Hunters grill might be a better option.

Most of the shows are on at the same time every day, and many of them are on multiple times, so you should be able to book meals and not miss anything. If you plan to eat at different times each day, it should make it possible for you to fit most shows in on different days.

I would definitely book restaurants to be on the safe side, but if you get there and realise one of your reservations clashes with something you don’t want to miss, you can always cancel / ask to amend your reservation while you’re there.

You could take / buy snacks for lunch and book to eat your main meal later in the evening one day, e.g. Hunters Grill could be booked for a couple of hours after park closing.

Plaza Gardens is only open during park opening times, so you’d need to eat earlier that day - maybe book for lunch time, then plan to have snacks in the evening. There are usually extra food stalls along Disney Village at Christmas, so you could get something there as you head back to your hotel at the end of the day.

As above, you can’t book for Annette’s and you’d be looking at long queues at popular times. You could eat there during the day, though - e.g. if you see the Christmas parade on Monday, you could then head to Annette’s during the parade on Tuesday, when the queues should be shorter.

I would agree with having lunch at Plaza Gardens (maybe a late or early lunch to avoid the busiest times) and then you can always go to Earl of Sandwich later. (Or McDonald's if you really must, though Five Guys is a much better burger for the price of the in-park burgers.)

Another buffet to consider is La Grange at Billy Bob's - for me it is much the nicest of the standard buffets. Great range of food, particularly desserts, and a nice atmosphere.

I have not done Cape Cod, I gather there are lots of fish and seafood options but I'm sure there are plenty of other options as well.
