It does say it’s discretionary and, having done it, I think it’s possibly because the kit and helmet are pretty heavy. So if he is a big lad for his age I would maybe speak to the manager to get agreement.

This was our day doing it last year (scroll down to after the shopping pics!)

Out of interest, how heavy is the kit? We didn't go last year as my youngest had just turned 9, but will be 10 the day before we fly this trip, so was thinking we would do it this time around, but unsure how easy it is for kids (ours will be 10 and 12) to move around etc.

Also noticed they now do a Wreck it Ralph version as well, so may need to do both

Do you need to book in advance? Looks fab and I think my lot would love it especially as we are not doing the Disney parks this time.

It’s hard to describe. It’s like carrying a full rucksack plus the helmet feels like a motorcycle helmet I would say. An average sized 10 year old should be fine but if very slight for their age they might find it too heavy.

I’m not sure. We did see people turned away last summer as they had no booking, but it was still quite new then so I’m not sure for this year.

Thanks for the reply. Did you book while you were there or before you went to Florida? As we’re not doing so many parks this year I wasn’t going to have as much of a planned itinerary as normal, but could have a few things slotted in if necessary.

My boys did it when they were 9. They loved it and did it twice. I put then a year older on the forms.
They really enjoyed it and managed fine with the heavy packs

Can anybody advise how long this last? I am thinking of booking but not sure if I can fit it in before an ADR we have.
