Upgrading hotel or dining package

I have booked for October with all star sports resort. As part of the package we have the free dining which just includes breakfast.
Now I am realising that we need the proper dining package, as we would like to book a few character meals.
Would it be possible to upgrade our package to the dining package? If so, would it be really expensive?
Would we be better to upgrade to a moderate hotel, or would that not give us the dining package now?
Never been before, but the more I read, the more I realise we should have booked a different hotel!

A moderate wouldn’t give you the dining plan you need so you’d still need to upgrade. Whether you can or not depends on who you booked with. The best thing to do is call whoever it is and get a price for both however you may find there’s no availability at a moderate anyway.

As mentioned above, with your current package you have one quick service credit per person per day. If you upgraded to a moderate hotel that would have the quick service dining plan which is two quick service meals per day, plus 2 snack credits per day per person. You would need to upgrade to a deluxe resort to get the dining plan included which is one table service meal, one quick service credit, two snack credits per person per day. Character meals will be a table service credit. Some like Cinderella’s royal table are two credits. All the above is based on the free dining offer

It really depends on how many a "few" is, you are looking somewhere in the region of £40/day/adult so crunch your numbers, even Mod is around £17/day/adult to upgrade but whilst you should be able to upgrade (free if you booked with Disney for instance) upgrading your Hotel will depend on availability.
