Recommendations for Villa Location when not doing Disney?
As per the title we’re looking at going back in 2021 and decided that we will be giving Disney a miss this time in favour of doing the Universal Parks.
After staying in Southern Dunes this year we wouldn’t stay in Haines City again due to the traffic on the I4. Any recommendations for villa communities, ideally closer to the US192 😀😀 |

Emerald Island, Sunset Lakes, Windsor Hills and pretty much any community off Funie Steed Road. A little further east Lake Berkley, Cumbrian Lakes? - have a look on the villa location map on here - both these areas (and those inbetween) are great locations and easy drive to Universal and also Disney.

we've stayed in Windsor Hills numerous times and also at Windsor Palms, great location nice properties with lots of choice. I agree with the earlier post about any site near this location being a good choice. Good luck

Sunset Lakes is a wonderful gated community, It is in the Formosa Gardens area, We found it easy enough to get to Universal from here.
We have also stayed in a couple of DIBB villas on here that I would highly recommend not only the villa but the owners excellent all round. Just another thought, If you would like to cut the driving down or not drive at all, Universal do a resort on International Drive called Endless Summer resort, They have 2 bedrooms and a kitchen area, You also get all the perks of staying on a Universal resort (except for front of line passes) but early entry into HP, Free transport to parks and so forth. Also you are walking distance to International drive with all the shops and restaurants.
