Mobile Anyone heard of this boiler?

Hi all,

Our plumber has recommended a Navien Boiler to replace our current boiler.

We have never heard of them.

Is anyone familiar with them?

Thank you

I asked my husband as he used to design heating and ventilating systems for schools etc. (not homes) and he has never heard of that make. We have a Baxi boiler - our is ancient but works perfectly.

I’m a gas engineer, and whilst theres nothing wrong with them, parts and breakdowns may be an issue, biasi the same, personally for a good mid range boiler baxi or ideal are pretty good (10 year warranty on some baxi’s)

We have an Ideal Mexico boiler installed in 1986!

However I'm very friendly with a Gas engineer and he capped off a redundant gas pipe for me a while ago so we got nattering about boilers.

His view is that the best boiler can change over time due to new models and changes etc. But currently he recommends Baxi as his view is they have less plastic parts, the warranty can be upgraded and he has less callbacks with them than with Bosch or Valiant.
He did speak highly of Valiant though.

But I'm a Carpenter not a Gas Engineer!

We have an Ideal Vogue C32 (2nd Gen) which comes with a 10 yr warranty and has been fab.Our house is so much warmer and our bills much cheaper. As a company, I can’t praise Ideal highly enough. We paid a company to install our new boiler 3 years ago (1st Gen) and we had to call Ideal out over a year later due to the expansion vessel deflating. They told us that the supports in the loft hadn’t been fitted so water had been ingressing into the boiler and it was severely corroded. The supports were then fixed by another company but I had to call Ideal out another couple of times due to issues and a year ago their engineer told me it should be condemned as it was so badly corroded. He said he would ask Ideal if they would consider supplying a new boiler if we paid for fitting but I never expected them to agree as they were not at fault whatsoever. Amazingly, they came back and said not only would they supply a new one they would also fit it for free😊
