Are we going in May...or not? Day 5 - May 20th, shopping and dinner with Mr Tom!

Awake at 6.15 this morning, scrambled egg on toast for breakfast.

After breakfast I head off into the back garden while it’s in the shade, there is weeding to be done. I take great care not to disturb our Tortoise nest, he has burrowed by the edge of the pool cage.

Richard fixes the last of the door blinds in place. I’m filthy so a quick shower before we get sorted to go out.

Today we’re heading to the Loop for some wall art to finish off the master suite.

First stop is Rooms our Go, this is never good, we never leave here without buying something! A new set of tables for the formal lounge are purchased! Delivery can be tomorrow but they are charging $90😳 this is absolutely never happening! We arrange to collect them from the warehouse in Lakeland on Wednesday morning.

Into Kirkland’s where we find the perfect thing for the wall, we also buy some lighted sticks. I give the assistant my phone number and she’s says I have a $10 coupon, is it my birthday? I smile and say yes! I’ll never get to heaven telling lies like that!
Bless her she also scans her family and friends card for me so I save about $25 in total.

A quick nip into Hobby Lobby and a very strange man asks if he can ask me a question and 5en reply’s he doesn’t want to speak to me when I ask him what! I report him to the staff as I pay for my twigs.

Next stop is Best Buy for a new wireless router. Ours is getting old now and we need a stronger one, that’s another $90!

We head home and while I make some rolls and salad for lunch, Richard screams obscenities at the new router!😳 the WiFi is working perfectly but the camera can’t find it! He threatens to smash the camera off the wall with a shovel - that’ll help then!

We put the old tables at the end of the drive and post on a local site that they are free for collection. By bed time they are still there! Can’t give stuff away this year!

Eventually after lunch the camera finally pairs with the WiFi! Richard sets up the TVs with the new WiFi as well.

Time for some relaxing!

After showers etc we head out to Longhorns at Rolling Oaks. We have a date tonight with Mr Tom Morrow, the very lovely Graham and Jeanette. It’s our second time meeting them and we have a really enjoyable evening eating excellent food with an attentive server and putting all aspects of the world to rights!

We start with a Texas Tonion and stuffed mushrooms to share and of course yummy bread.

Steak salad all round for mains, all cooked perfectly.

Not a French fry in sight, no need to eat them unless you wish to!

Lovely meal, good service and great company...a perfect evening!

TTFN xx

Selina. How nice to have a tortoise on your property. I love them.
It's amazing how much work and cost you Villa owners have to expend but all credit to you for the effort. It certainly tells. Well done.

Always nice to meet you both and cannot fault Longhorns for a good meal. So much better than the overpriced poor fayre Disney is churning out.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday. We fly home on Saturday as you know.

I had no idea there were wild tortoises in Florida how fabulous! Wondering now if I have seen them and assumed they were turtles. My son is in Turkey and apparently there are lots wandering round the hotel grounds.

Sue. The bad experience was at the Vineland Longhorns.

The food looked fine judging by the other tables. However our server could best be described as bonkers.

We ordered the salads and I asked for the bread. He said we couldn't have it until our entrees were ordered. So I did but said they weren't to arrive for 20 mins whilst we had the salads etc.

5 mins later the entrees arrived so I sent them back.

He came over and proceeded to stare at me. I told him not to stare but he continued. I then ripped him a new ≈≈≈≈ and asked for the Manager, said we weren't paying for anything and we walked out.

He was fruit of the loom!
