I would just avoid the place altogether as it really did nothing for us at all.
Would either stop in Morro Bay, Santa Maria or head on to Santa Barbara. |

As much as I liked our hotel I have to agree with this as there really isn’t anything there, if we were to do the trip again we would either have a long drive or stop off somewhere else

We just spent the day shopping, swimming and playing table tennis when we were at Pismo beach and we liked our hotel so it was fine for a stop off for us. We really liked Santa Barbara though and I wished we were there for more than two nights.

We stayed in Morro Bay and Santa Barbara on our trip - had an hour or so in Pismo Beach to eat the famous cinnamon rolls and have a swim, but I wouldn't have wanted to stay there. I loved Morro Bay and would love to stay there again - just to watch all the sea otters!

Thanks for all your replies, I will get looking at those recommendations, possibly looking at lighthouse suites as look really roomy for 5 of us and I think I will look at staying at Santa Barbara as well for a couple of nights also.

Inn at the pier, it's new, has an amazing rooftop bar and is opp the pier. Failing that, the Sandcastle or SeaVenture, both good hotels... I think there is construction going on between the Sandcastle and the inn at the pier- building a new Marriott, so check out if there is disturbance.
I love Pismo, its relaxed and a place I would (in another life) retire there.
