You may remember when I posted about my admiration for working families and the issues my Daughter had when my grandson started school, re a change of hours for the breakfast club and a very intransigent Head teacher, whose response was... don’t like it move.

Well following that incident my daughter requested a meeting with head. It appeared there was a “ miscommunication “ however the Head said she felt there was no need to have the club earlier. My daughter did lots of research re commuting times for average family, how many working families etc.
Sent it to the head and governors.

Upshot. School sent out a questionnaire about start times and an overwhelming majority wanted an earlier start. So there are now two early start times a rise and shine club at 07.30 and a breakfast club at 07.50. The rise and shine club has had the most requests so daughters persistence paid off.

She has received lots of thank you from the school parents groups

At last a school with parents and governors as well as staff who can actually see sense for once! Well done, you made a difference to all the families that this is going to benefit for the foreseeable future. 🥰🙌🏻💖
