I had this when I was kid maybe 8/9 (I'm now 33). Didn't feel unwell or anything my parents only noticed when I happened to be at the dentist for a check up and he asked about my face as it was drooping to one side slightly
I think I got taken to the docs and hospital for x rays to my head but basically nothing they could do about it. My mouth does still droop to one side can only smile with one side (hate some photos 😔 ) I can only wink with one eye and my eye doesn't close right at one side but apart from that I'm fine! I do get very self conscious meeting new people tho and kids at school made the usual remarks about it

Its 1 week today since i got the 1st symptoms and still no better. I think i have been lucky in as much as my face isn't drooping etc. I have total paralysis on the left side though, can't move my mouth on that side or my eye so having to tape it closed at night. I have started getiing twinges and sensations now though so hopefully thats a sign that something is starting to happen.

I do feel quite unwell, dizzy etc so i think it is like the shingles virus or similar that has caused it.

Everyone keeps telling me its nowhere near as bad as i think it is but it feels horrible - especially not being able to talk properly. Its surprising how badly something like this affects your self esteem etc

I am going for accupuncture tonight so will see how that goes. Praying for even a slight improvement but not getting my hopes up too much !
