A local dry cleaners do alterations and ironing.
They give you a container and when that’s full you get them to pick it up or you can drop it off yourself. I have all my sheets, duvet covers etc done there and any other items of clothing that need doing. I drop it off and pick it up myself and am charged around £20 - £22 usually.

Our dry cleaners wash and iron 5 shirts for £11. My friend used to do ironing and she found it best to charge by how much the ironing weighed. How much she did charge for lb/kilo I don’t know though, so that isn’t much help!

I have all our ironing done by a lady in the village, she does all of our personal ironing and between 10-15 superking duvets and 40-60 pillowcases for 20-25 pounds a week, best money ever spent xx

I've been using our local ironing company for about 8 yearss now. She charges £1.40 per pound and an extra 20p for each long sleeved work shirt. I usually have it done every 2-3 weeks and I think it costs me about £20 each time (a bargain in my eyes!). I give it all to her in a black bin bag and it comes back on hangers covered in plastic. Collected and delivered back within 48 hours.

i do all the ironing in our house i find satisfying, stick on youtube or something & an hour or so a week jobs a good un
this is for 3 of us incl x5 school shirts, troursers etc etc i get irritated if the mrs does it as she dosnt do it to my standard so prefer to do it myself wouldnt pay someone, same for a cleaner, of all household chores ironing is the least of a "chore" for me.. £30 a week 1500 quid a year... mental imo Edited at 09:22 AM. |

I iron only my Scout leader shirt and all of our neckers (for Cubs Scouts and leader).
I don’t iron anything else at all. I take it from the washer, hang it on a hanger and pop over an upstairs door frame to dry then move to the relevant wardrobe.

Minnie check if there's an opening for it where you live, I would say the market is saturated round here with ironing shops, dry cleaners and small businesses. I must be the only person doing my own ironing!

I get mine done. She collects on a Sunday evening and returns on a Tuesday. She is so busy that she is starting to franchise locally and her husband has given up work to help. It costs me about £20/25 per fortnight but that includes the bedding
I’ll pm you her website Minnie |
