I am often on Treasure Island the day of a return home from TPA. I always fill up in Treasure Island and then drive to the airport and it still shows full, evn though 20 miles or so away, so never bother with the pre-pay. The east , north and south exits from TI all have petrol stations immediately on exit and so finding a station is not an issue. Just fill it up past the first pump push back and off you go. A saving of $20-$30 is better in my pocket than Avis or Alamo's. And if there is a station by the DIsney return it seems a good idea also. Thats a 40-60 saving in total. Whenever I've travelled from TPA to Orlando the tank still is about 3/4 full, so I'd loath giving the rental companies so much petrol to sell to the next guy.
